EDIT1:You can download the app here

EDIT2: The app received more than 1700 downloads in first two days in US alone.

Over the last few days I have been working on a vocabulary building app. Today we are submitting it to App Store. Once it is available for public downloads, I’ll post a link to it here. For now, take a look at some of the (pre-release :-) ) screen shots below.

  1. App Icon (from iPhone screen shot)
Icon (as it appears on iPhone)
  2. Splash Screen:
    Word List - Splash Screen
  3. Select a List to practice:
Word List - List Selection Screen
  4. Top Side of a Flash Card, showing word:
    Word List - Word Screen
  5. Bottom Side of a Flash Card, showing meanings:
    Word List - Meanings Screen

The app remembers the card you were looking at when you close it, and goes straight to it next time.

It supports gestures in conjunction with buttons, to browse the words and meanings. If user slides his/her finger horizontally, next/previous words are shown, sliding finger vertically flips the card.

“Remove Card” removes the card from a word list (it can’t be undone and should be used to remove words that are already familiar to the user).

Thanks to Mannan for original idea and Ahmad for the interface images.

Thanks to Sungwoo for the word lists.
